I currently develop in Flash Builder 4.7 on a 2 year old MacBook Air with a 1.8 Ghz Intel Core i5 and 8GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 of memory. I run into at least 20 Java heap space errors per day. I have tried altering the Flash Builder .ini file with various settings, including -Xms and -Xmx of up to 2GB. This generally works for a week or so, but then I am back to square one. I am looking into buying a computer with better hardware for a few reasons, but primarily to reduce the time spent building debugs of the AIR app I am working on. Will better hardware help me at all? Or do I need to seriously examine the memory usage of the app?
